Day 1. Phnom Penh. Introduction in the morning before we’re out to explore Phnom Penh. Besides Street Photography we'll focus on portraits, architecture, sceneries and details. We also will be visiting local markets, pagodas, Vietnamese graveyard and the White Building for a street photography session. After lunch we will visit Tuol Sleng known as the Genocide Museum and end up at the Chinese Area.

Day 2. Phnom Penh / Kompong Chhnang. We leave the capitol by A/C car or minivan along rice fields and rural life towards Oudong, once the capital of ancient Cambodia. Before lunch we continue our trip to Kompong Chhnang on the borders of Tonle Sap lake for a countryside tour and end the day with a boat trip to a floating village during sunset. In the evening we’ll have an editing workshop (Lightroom) in the lobby of our hotel.

Day 3. Kompong Chhnang / Battambang. In the early morning we will visit the local market and interact with the locals. Before lunch we will be heading for Battambang and Phnom Sampeau Mountain, famous for its Killing Caves, which we go up by 4W-drive. Evening photography session is an option.

Day 4. Battambang. The morning visit takes us to Ek Phnom area, a pre-Angkor temple site followed by a street photography session downtown and lunch. In the afternoon we’ll show you a muslim village while driving through Battambang’s rice fields by tuk tuk before ending up for a ride with the infamous Bamboo Train.

Day 5. Battambang / Siem Reap. Heading for Siem Reap (Temple Town) by private boat on Cambodia's most breathtaking trip. When in Siem Reap and after checked in in our hotel we’ll go out to the Bayon temple during the Golden Hour. In the evening we’ll have an editing workshop (Lightroom) in the lobby of our hotel.
Note: Due to the water level of the big lake we only run the private boat tour from August to March. The rest of the year we go by A/C car or minivan.

Day 6. Siem Reap. A full day at the temples within the Angkor Archaeologic Park for a photo tour to Angkor Wat (sunrise), Preah Khan, Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm and more... This in-depth and popular workshop has an arranged one hour photoshoot with some lovely monks at one of the quiet temple sites within Angkor Park. During that photo portrait session you will be instructed by Eric with no other tourists around. During our farewell dinner (included) we’ll have a presentation of our work.

The cameras I use

Sometimes I get questions from (potential) clients what cameras/lenses I use. Well… look at the picture. I got the Nikon D700 full frame using at the moment only for portrait sessions. The very handy Fuji X100T is mainly for street photography. The Fuji X-Pro 1 (love that camera) with a 10-24mm, 35mm and 60mm I carry in and around the temples and during other photo tours/workshops and last but no least… the analog Olympus OM-1 with 24-70mm. Since a couple of months I started to use the film camera during street photography sessions and developed the B/W films again after many years by myself in Ilford ID-11.

More Great Reviews...

“Just amazing! Best Photo workshop and tour possible!”

I went around Cambodia with Eric for seven days, from Phnom Penh to Sieam Reap. It was just a dense workshop of street photography, stunning. We went to places I would have never never found and visited if I had been on my own. Eric can teach you the art of photography and especially the art of street photography in a stunningly relaxed way. I had a great great time.
When going to Angkor only, I can only recommend that you try to get hold of Eric. You will find the places also on your own. But you will not be at the best places at the right time. You will miss Eric's inspiration and hidden treasures. And if you are late (or early), you are amongst 100 tourist.
Thank you so much, Eric!
